A sense of belonging
Every child is welcomed as an individual, so Japanese children quickly feel they are part of the Pegasus family.
Pegasus helps Japanese children settle, feel safe and grow in confidence — while staying connected to Japanese language and culture.
Moving to Singapore with a young child is a big step. Many Japanese families arrive with the same worry: will my child feel comfortable, understood and safe in a new country and a new language?
At Pegasus International Preschool in Novena, we welcome Japanese children from 17 months to 6 years into a warm, international environment where they can settle gently, make friends and grow in confidence — while staying connected to the Japanese language and culture of home.
Children learn best when they feel safe. Before we think about English, letters or numbers, we make sure every child feels they belong — greeted by name, understood by caring teachers, and free to be themselves.
For a child who has just left family, friends and familiar surroundings in Japan, this sense of security matters most. Our teachers support each child through the transition patiently, so that nervous first days turn into happy mornings your child looks forward to.
Everything we do is designed to help your child feel at home while building the confidence to thrive in Singapore.

Warm, patient teachers help children feel calm and secure, especially during the first weeks in a new country.
A Japanese-teacher programme lets children keep expressing themselves in their home language as they learn.
Familiar songs, stories and celebrations keep children connected to Japanese culture while they settle in.
Children build the courage to listen, speak and try in English through everyday play and real conversations.
Alongside Japanese friends, children meet families from around the world and learn to feel at ease anywhere.
We believe children shouldn't have to leave their home language behind to succeed in an international preschool. Through our Japanese-teacher programme, children continue to hear, speak and enjoy Japanese during the school day.
Familiar language, songs and cultural moments give Japanese children a comforting bridge between home and school — and help them feel proud of who they are as they grow more confident in English.

In our international classrooms, English is part of everyday life — in play, stories, circle time and friendships. Children absorb it naturally, without pressure or drilling.
Because they feel safe and supported, Japanese children gradually find the confidence to understand and speak English in their own time. Confidence comes first; the language follows.
